Snow, Ice, Ice and Snow

Fucking hell, what a mental week. Last Tuesday we had a foot of snow fall over night and it absolutely annihilated EVERYTHING! Had a bit more the next day and then this morning awoke to another few inches. Aldershot and the surrounding area is a mess, all the paths are lethal. Bonus is I've had a couple of days off and a few early finishes - and there's massive icicles all over the place...here's my colleague Dan with the biggest one we managed to get down:

Just cleared my car off for the first time in a week and she started first time - 32 years old too! Just need to gain the motivation to dig it out so I might be able to use it sometime soon and can stop having to walk everywhere.

Ho-hum, that'll do for now.

Here comes the year - brace yourself!

First day back to work after the xmas and new year holiday. Damn, getting up was hard! Didn't help that it was about -7 deg and took 2 kettles full of water to de-ice the locks on my car just to get in to de-ice the rest! Fucking stupid cunting English weather. I wouldn't mind having bone-shatteringly cold winters if we had some minute semblance of a warm summer! But, no doubt, it'll be another shitty wet year where my car dissolves yet further into brown dust. Bollocks.

On the plus side, I managed to order the 13" U-bolts to further lower the car so hopefully I can get that done this weekend. Oh, and I ordered some special new number plates that should sharpen up the look too.

Oh, and it's Chili & Cornbread for dinner tonight... SCORE!

The cars 'improved' exhaust

A month or two ago I put a glasspack backbox on the Cedric to let the straight-6 roar properley:

Music Education #1

Project Yakuza Lowrider

As said before, I have a few hobbies. One of which is old cars - namely, Datsuns.

For my sins, I run the Datsun Owners Club in the UK, and my little contribution to keeping these cars on the road is my current project, a Datsun 280C lowrider. I bought this in October 2008 and have been (slowly) getting it done up and driving it around. It arrived into my hands looking like this:

And after welding it, MOT-ing it, painting it (badly - new coat of black in the springtime), changing in an injection engine and various other little bits and bobs, it now looks like this:

That's a 5" (five inch) drop on the front! Got to lower the back in the next couple of weeks once I get some bits fabricated up.

The plan is, once there's money to, put it on airbag suspension. So eventually it'll be black and low and DAMN AWESOME.

Ill be posting up progress on this as and when it happens so watch this space!

The Last Ten Years = Slightly Blurry

Morning one & all!

I see you've stumbled across my little corner of this expansive monster that is the internet - no doubt it will get lost amongst all the music and porn and only get read by one person, once a month. I used to blog, about 7 years ago, but stopped thanks to things going slightly off-kilter in life.

But now I'm back, to spew my ramblings - from poetic to vitriolic to nonsensical and downright fucking retarded!

For those that don't know me, my name's Johnny, and I live in a horrible little corner of the south of England called Aldershot. I didn't grow up here, and I'm not sure how I ended up here... all I know is that this is home now and life ticks on.

There are few things important in my life, as my life is pretty unimportant, but some things are what keep me motivated to push on and knuckle down. These things are as follows:

My girlfriend Ella. She's managed to endure me for 4 1/2 years without slitting my throat no matter what stupidity I bestow upon her vicinity, so this makes her more than okay in my book :)

Cedric 'Chief'. Our first cat together, my best mate and personal alarm clock.

Spencer 'Captain'. Cat number 2, and a complete fucking weirdo. Good for a cuddle though.

Siouxsie, the new arrival. She a fucking psycho, that's all I'll say.

Also, there's Ian, Max and Jim, my 3 weasels - AKA 'The Bastard Squad'

I have a fair few hobbies, some of which I'll be blogging the progression of over time, but I can't be bothered to make this blog bigger. This is me.

Laters you cunts!
